Privacy Policy

Draft — pending legal review. This page was written as a starting point for SIF India's own counsel to review before publishing. It is not legal advice and should not be relied on as a finished policy until a qualified lawyer has reviewed it against how the platform actually operates (including once real user data, payments, or a real NAV data source are involved).

1. What we collect

If you create an account, we collect the email address, name (optional), and password you provide. Your password is never stored in plain text — it's hashed (bcrypt) before it reaches our database.

We don't currently run third-party analytics or ad-tracking scripts on the Service. If that changes (e.g. we add a privacy-respecting analytics tool), this policy will be updated to reflect exactly what's collected before it goes live.

2. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly functional cookies to keep you signed in (session, CSRF-protection, and callback-URL cookies set by our authentication system). We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

3. How we use your data

To create and maintain your account, and to keep you signed in
To determine access to gated content (currently, Fund Managers' Voice)
To respond to support requests you send us

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Where your data is stored

Account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database operated by our hosting/database provider. We take reasonable technical measures (password hashing, HTTPS in production) to protect it, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your account data by contacting care@sifindia.com. Self-service account deletion isn't built yet — this is a placeholder process until it is.

6. Children

The Service is not directed at, and we don't knowingly collect data from, individuals under 18.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
